Northern blot is used in molecular biology to study gene expression by detection of RNA.
Western blot is used to detect specific proteins in a sample of tissue homogenate or extract.
In most cases Northern blots and Western blots can be detected using a scanner or camera.
In our facility you can use the Odyssey scanner or the LAS 4010.
For image analysis and band quantification we recommend the TOTALAB software.
