The BD FACSDiscover A8 shares the same core architecture as our Discover S8 sorter, bringing the power of BD CellView™ Image Technology and BD SpectralFX™ Technology into a dedicated analyzer format. This instrument allows you to visually confirm your populations while gating, ensuring higher data quality and providing deeper morphological insights.

Key Technical Features

• Spectral Capability: Equipped with five lasers (UV-349nm, V-405nm, B-488nm, YG-561nm, R-637nm) and 78 APD detectors, supporting highly flexible panels for high-parameter experiments.
• Real-Time Imaging: Correlate protein expression with spatial and morphological data in real-time, adding a new dimension to your analysis.
• High-Throughput Efficiency: The integrated system supports rapid multi-sample readouts from plates, enabling the high cell numbers required for the statistically significant sampling of rare cell populations.

The instrument is available for self-operation by trained users. If you are not yet trained on this system, please contact core personnel to schedule a hands-on session.

Acquisition is performed using BD FACSChorus™ software (FCS 3.2). Following acquisition, CSV and TIFF files should be exported to our bcf-server.

 Please ensure you back up your own data immediately; the unit does not provide long-term data storage.

FCS files are compatible with all major third-party analysis software. We provide several workstations with various software options—please see our Data Analysis page for more details.
