Functional & Structural Brain Imaging

The most common research tool for noninvasive in vivo imaging of the brain is MRI due to its ability to penetrate the skull. Anatomical and functional MRI can provide fundamental information on brain structure, development and function. Our facility offers two preclinical micro-MRI systems:  ASPECT 1T MRI and Bruker BioSpec 9.4T MRI. The Aspect is mainly used for tumor progression follow-up, and the Bruker for superior high resolution anatomical and functional brain imaging, for example, using echo planar imaging (EPI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) scan protocols.
