Freeze-drying

Freeze-drying or lyophilisation is an effective dehydration process that minimizes damage. It utilizes the physical phenomenon of sublimation, direct transition between solid and gaseous states without passage through the liquid phase. To achieve this, the frozen material is dried under vacuum, without thawing.

In order to prevent melting, boiling, or collapse special care must be taken. . Please read the “Basic principles, optimum procedures and applications” for more information.
