Octet R8

The Sartorius 8-channel Octet R8 system offers an advanced, fluidics-free approach to biomolecule kinetic screening and affinity characterization of small (a few hundred D) and large (antibodies, CD antigens) molecules. It employs Sartorius’s label-free Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) technology for direct detection of proteins and biomolecules in complex mixtures with a range of Dip and Read biosensors. This system can perform quantitation and kinetic analysis for up to 96 samples in 0.5-2.5 hours.

The Octet R8 serves various purposes like kinetic analysis, protein quantitation, immunoassay development, bioprocess analysis, and more in one, or up to eight channels.In terms of affordability and convenience compared to microfluidics-based systems, the Octet R8 system offers ease of use, sample reuse, minimal preparation time, and optional biosensor regeneration, reducing equipment and reagent costs. It includes integrated software for data acquisition and analysis.  Regeneration and reuse of biosensors further improve process economics.

For quantitation assays, it provides quick and accurate measurements with minimal interference from complex matrices. High sensitivity is attainable with different assay formats such as longer or multiple steps.

For kinetic assays, the Octet R8 calculates on rates (ka), off rates (kd) and affinity constants (KD) at different temperatures (15-40°C).
